Stephen King Confirms THE OUTSIDER Season 2 and Says It's Going to Be 'Real Spooky'

The first season of HBO’s series adaptation of Stephen King’s The Outsider was fantastic! I couldn’t have asked for a better retelling of the story. The series was a huge hit for HBO, and while they have yet to confirm that a second season is happening, King himself confirmed it in an interview with EW, saying, “There’s going to be a second season of The Outsider as soon as they can get the production going.”

If you haven’t watched the series yet, The Outsider follows police detective Ralph Anderson (Ben Mendelsohn), “as he sets out to investigate the mutilated body of 11-year-old Frankie Peterson found in the Georgia woods. The mysterious circumstances surrounding this horrifying crime leads Ralph, still grieving the recent death of his own son, to bring in unorthodox private investigator Holly Gibney, whose uncanny abilities he hopes will help explain the unexplainable.” While this is going on, another man (Jason Bateman) is blamed and arrested for the murder, and he claims he’s innocent.

There are a lot of great and interesting twists and turns in the story, and there’s a cool supernatural element to it. It’s that supernatural element that will need to be explored further in Season 2. King went on to tease what we can expect from the next season saying:

“I know exactly where it's going because I have seen some of the scripts. I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. I'll just say that it's really great and a real spooky paranormal element.”

Well, I’m happy that Season 2 is actually moving forward, and I can’t wait to see how the story continues to play out.
