Gerard Butler is Set To Star in a New Action Thriller Titled REMOTE CONTROL

Gerard Butler has jumped on board a new action-thriller titled Remote Control. Butler usually takes on some fun action flicks and this one sounds like it’ll be a good one for him. I just enjoy watching Butler in his action movies!

In the film, Butler will play “a former war correspondent turned corporate security consultant, whose life is overturned when he receives a mysterious phone call from an unknown source. He soon uncovers the threads of a global conspiracy, finding himself drawn into a fight for his life, pursued by a powerful shadow organization and framed as a notorious international assassin. With his own identity erased, Rafter turns to his former lover, who is also implicated in the conspiracy.”

Ya gotta love those global conspiracy stories that involve powerful shadowy organizations and assassins! Yeah, we’ve see a ton of movies like this before, but it could still be fun! Especially if they inject something different and unique into the story.

John Mathieson, who received Oscar nominations for his cinematography work on Gladiator and Phantom of the Opera, will direct from Mark Burnell’s screenplay, based on Burnell’s novel.

The film is set up at STXfilms and Motion Picture Group chairman Adam Fogelson said in a statement:

“As a producer and a star, Gerard Butler continues to be an extraordinary partner. We are excited to be re-teaming with him and G-Base on ‘Remote Control.’ This is the kind of high-stakes action story that he does best. The complete package of Gerard, Michael and Barbara at EON, and Ashok at Hyde Park makes this a hard-to-beat proposition for STX.”

Are you a fan of Butler and do you think this will be a good film project for him to be a part of?
